GNU Guix 0.8.2 发布了，该版本改进内容包括：

• 二进制安装的全新方法，简化了安装过程，详情请看 new method
  

• GuixSD 提供新配置接口，如 name service switch, new service definitions, easier desktop-style configuration,
  

• A new guix publish command allowing everyone to publish their own binaries.

• 718 new packages (including "big ones" like GnuCash, IcedTea, and GHC) and 189 package updates

• Countless bug fixes and usability improvements.

GNU Guix项目正式宣布成立，该项目旨在构建一个百分百自由软件的GNU系统，创建一个新的包管理器。除了标准的软件包管理功能外，Guix支持透明升级和回滚，无特权包管理，针对每个用户的配置文件，以及垃圾回收。
